It used to be very extreme to the points where doctors were urging me to seek help as they couldn't force me. I was a nuisance to everyone around me.

I read this on the Wikipedia page of OCD: "The condition is also associated with a general increase in suicidality."

Well, fuck, boys. :feelsrope:

How long have you had it? I got the germophobic kind of OCD. Sucks! As a result I can't even fight even if I get punched because I don't want it to get worse and all I want is to go home ASAP and wash myself a dozen times before I feel clean for the rest of the day. JFL.

A long time, i was probably born with it. i am obsessed with numbers in an unhealthy way.

Has it been diagnosed by a doctor or is it a self-diagnosis?

I got diagnosed with ocd by a doctor but i dont trust them. I just know i have it because ive reached a point where numbers impede my quality of life. I barely said shit to doctors btw they diagnose people all the time XD.

Yeah I got diagnosed a decade ago so it's legit, I even got to the point where I did have interview with psychriatic institutes but I backed out because I didn't want to do things against my will. They'd probably get me on pills or some shit.

Maybe it is as simple as being deficient in certain vitamins.

As a kid I had a terrible diet and was incredibly neurotic. When I started working out and eating a somewhat healthy diet it went away. It is hard to imagine right now, but I honestly think it was gone completely during that time.

For the past months I have been eating very low amounts of animal protein because I'm too lazy to buy food and it costs a lot more money compared to what I'm eating right now. My OCD has been getting a lot worse over the past months. And this isn't the foid tier "ocd", its the debilitating kind where my brain feels like its about to explode and I can't control my thought patterns. I need to "clean" my mind constantly, which is far more annoying than washing my hands and checking everything for dust and dirt. I wash my hands maybe 20 times a day, which sometimes results in my fingers getting thick and bloated from all the washing.

But I feel like it might be as simple as being deficient in certain vitamins.
Dude, I can relate to washing my hands loads of times. In fact, in the winter my hands become so dry from washing my hands with liquid antibacterial soap that when I form a fist that my skin cracks open and blood comes out. I also know what it's like where your brain is flooded with unwanted thoughts and images. I deal with it everyday. This is called "intrusive thoughts" and "intrusive images." It's such a bitch. I don't think for me it's related to diet but I do think it's environmental at the same time. When I was in Pakistan, even though it's objectively 100x dirtier than in Europe, I felt absolutely clean. Whatever bothered me here, never bothered me there. After I touch money, I immediately wash my hands but there? I could touch money, put it on my face (UNTHINKABLE when I am in Europe). My OCD completely goes away there. Then I come back and it's me again, making everyone at the house crazy because I also say "Please wash your hands, you touched that" (usually when it's something that was recently bought from outside, like a bag of cookies or whatever). OCD's a bitch.

I'm not saying your case is the same, but how much animal protein are you eating on a typical day? It is also winter right now, and vitamin D deficiency can be another cause.

For me, there seems to be just a very clear correlation between having (most likely) unhealthy micronutrient levels and mental illnesses. I'm also freezing all the time, even though in the past winters I was never this cold. Maybe again because I'm not eating enough animal fats and don't get any exercise.

i relate with the winter thing. I wonder if its the vax.

If it's any consolation, TRUE_CEL, OCD is highly correlative with above than average intellectual capabilities.

I also had minor OCD. And i suspect so do many people here.

Completely over.

I have some ocd tendancies.

I worry obessively about my looks and have taken all the measurements of my face and skull multiple times and will somtimes analyze my face in the mirror for hours.

I always have a new obsession whether it be chin, projection, forward growth or skull size and if im below average in any of these categories I think of it as completely ruining my looks

If I see myself in a bad mirror or a bad candid I will feel hopelessly depressed for the rest of the day.

My camera roll has about 1000 pictures of my face from diffferent angles and different expressions.

My brain is a gigantic mess but I refuse to see a therapist

I have pure ocd too, mostly intrusive thoughts abt killing people and sexual shit and stuff, i never act on it tho. Oh and i repeat some shit alot cuz i didnt do it "perfectly"

No shit son
But I have a close relative who had it
And for years it was a nightmare for him
He’s now living a normal life
working in a 8-4 job, working in freelance in his free time and going to the gym made his mind occupied

Mental illness isn’t always cured, he was taking SSRIs which just made his appetite so strong that he became obese (he lost the weight only after 2) and numbed his feelings

Most drugs that you will be given are just a bandage to a bigger problem

I hope you get better bruv
Keep fighting the good fight

Obssess over going ER.
