i used to have this problem but not anymore after swalling lots of pills

try brushing ur tongue really far at the back and see if u gag, if u gag then practice it everyday until u dont gag. should help open up the throat

I dont think it has anything to do with airway . You probably have no problem swallowing food , it can be just your natural body reflex to reject swallowing foreign substances , you should take it with water .
