I understand how region locking usually works for videos or APIS, GeolP lookup,CDN rules etc but I'm curious how they're applying it to static image files. Anyone knows what this is? Someone educate me on what's going on. I think it's cloudfare middlewear itself that is doing this.

Cloudflare or the actual image site host is banned and somehow detecting IP of users who view it beforehand but it don't make sense because that would mean they're somehow checking an embedded image before it loads? You work in tech Jason, you should know. I was viewing an older thread from 2020 just now and one image failed to load while the other one loaded successfully and they were both from the same host i'm pretty sure so not sure what's going on with it.

An investigation into Imgur was launched for Non - Compliance and they were threatened with fines unless they submitted to the government, Imgur rightfully refused and have gone the Civitai route of simply cutting off the UK and then adopting the 4Chan response of "We have no operations in the UK, we are not subject to your law"
