For me it's the complete opposite.

While I'm aware it's all fake and artificial, from my point of view games are perfect for younglings to experience early adult life choices and it can actually shape their personality, making them a more intelligent and empathic person, if we talk about story games. For example in red dead redemption 1-2 you learn how honor and trust is ALWAYS the most important traits you can have amongst friends and maybe even family, while Detroit Become Human will teach you how every choice matters and you can't know the impact they'll have in the future so you might choose carefully. Ghost of Tsushima was an eye-opening experience for me and it made me realise how crazy the samurai era was and how cool it is. Because of that, I'm planning to visit Tsushima, the island it takes place on one day when I'm grown up and have the money for it.

I think if you take your time to play story games it is actually beneficial, but yeah, fortnite and R6, LOL and so on are truly a waste of time beside the joy and memories you can have with your friends. Fortnite prime was crazy
