I just realized that a lot of the problems here are caused by an absent/loser dad

For me at least, my dad was a complete beta loser who even I could tell was at the bottom of the totem pole. Friends of mine have had their fathers give advice on relationships, fashion, hairstyling, fitness, meanwhile I've been on my own to figure it all out. In fact, my dad likely was not aware of these things. As a result, I am behind and perpetually playing catch up, and the worst part is that it's an exponential growth curve.
