My mom loves me. My Dad loved me. My family and friends love me. But it doesn't feel like love.
I know it's conditional. I know they love me for who they see or, or for the person they imagine in their head when they look at me.
I know they would get uncomfortable if I cried in front of them, if I showed weakness, if I was anything less than they expect me to be.
I know they can't hug me and I mean truly hug and kiss me; not hugging me because I'm their friend, or related, but simply because I am a human worthy of respect.
I want someone in my life who would love me unconditionally, even if I killed someone, was evil, was ugly, was a loser, was gay, was a tranny, was insane, a pervert, anything.
Someone who I can feel comfortable being not only myself but feel safe knowing any version of me possible, regardless if it occurs or not, is loved.
