In biology sex is not the purpose, its there because it assures your existence at all, like its just a necessary step in your life, get children. Its not about getting a wife, or being loved its about having a kid. But is it really that for humans? Because lot of childless people live fine, weve grown past this, and we still want sex as its a biological need to have sexual pleasure.
Read "The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins. From an evolutionary perspective, the purpose of life is reproduction because it ensures the survival and continuation of an organism's genes. Ultimately, organisms are vehicles for their genes, and their purpose is to ensure those genes live on. We are just fleshy robotic vehicles for our genes to propagate, nothing else matters.
