I watched it a couple of years ago.

It's a good anime, quite different from the usual anime nowadays.
The ending is somewhat shocking.

I don't understand how it could 'fuck you up' however.

It had alot of nudity, gore and twists that really shocked me, and the ending left me really empty but it was very beautiful at the same time
