It’s possible. Although just because it’s mostly common in those ethnic groups doesn’t necessarily mean he has to be descended from them. There’s also more ethnic groups with those haplogroups.

Y-DNA haplogroup is paternal. You can find your maternal haplotype if you convert your Ancestry file into a 23andme file and use Jameslick’s mtDNA finder. But when you use that, you don’t get the correct haplogroup. Let’s say it gives you O9b (just a random example, idk if it exists) then your haplotype is going to be O, but it won’t be that subclade; since you don’t have enough markers from your Ancestry file to determine your maternal haplogroup.
