I look wide from the back but framecel from the front

Does anyone know why i look wide from the back but my clavicles are short from behind. My theory is because my clavicles are sloped so i have the appearance of a narrow frame but yesterday someone complimented me saying "You look so wide from the back". Could it just be that my big neck and big head make me look narrow from the front?
