Your father has a similar issue to me it seems, did he suffer from any head injuries in the past? I got extremely mentally unstable after i cut my head open in 2022, after that i have struggled to be mentally stable, your father's behaviour could arise from something similar as well.

Sounds like my father, same characteristics, but one day I heard him crying alone, he said, "You know that you had potential, but you didn't act up on it."

Still think about it to this day, I myself knew I had insane potential, but it all went to shit, when some fuckass medical shit happened, it got so bad to a point I skipped an entire year of school. The thing was, I was getting A+ consistently before, and had a chance at a high ranking career, according to social norms, nurse, scientist, doctor and engineer. Well now I'm stuck with this shitty blue collar job, the universe is toying with my future. I feel exhausted.
