No one gives a fuck what I do. I roll out of bed, bring my laptop into bed and continue to sleep for a bit. I get AI to write some code for me for about an hour or 2 then play Elden ring and watch movies the rest of the day, periodically adding some of my code to the codebase. I enter a meeting before the end of the day where I just say “no updates from me”, rinse and repeat. And I make more money than anyone I know my age who isn’t in tech while doing it

Not a shit ton just the equivalent of 60,000 dollars. But in my country that’s pretty good especially for someone in their early 20s. My salary will increase year by year

You live in Europe?
Yeah that’s pretty solid at your age

You’ll probably need a degree in computer science or something equivalent. Some people can get jobs with a really strong portfolio and no degree but the chances are very slim

What if I’m fluent in n8n and zapier

Even still, companies will probably stop looking at your CV as soon as they don’t see a relevant degree. If you have a strong portfolio of projects there’s a chance you can get your foot in the door tho

Got it. Are you not at risk of losing your job if AI becomes any more developed?

I could be, I feel like my role will just change though rather than be fully replaced. I imagine as AI becomes more advanced, software engineers will be more like creative directors who understand the architecture of the software system and design prompts to have the AI implement code in the way that the business needs it. Also new languages and frameworks release frequently, and AI is terrible at writing code using new technologies as the AI needs to be trained on a lot of data
