I made a thread on Reddit asking women about looksmaxxing, and the reaction was completely predictable.
The moment you mention a guy actively trying to optimize his appearance, they immediately lose their minds and default to the ultimate strawman: "Oh, so you want to pin underground lab steroids, smash your jawbones with a hammer, and destroy your organs? That's unhinged and misogynistic!"

It's wild how they completely conflate basic baseline self-care—like going to the gym, getting a haircut, or fixing your skin—with fringe, body-dysmorphic self-harm just so they have an easy excuse to trash the whole concept.

Even better, when pressed on whether money, status, and looks actually matter in real life, they try to pull the classic gaslight: "No, money and status don't matter at all, we only care about your pure personality!" while simultaneously writing off any guy who puts in effort as insecure and pathetically vain.

They want a guy who is a naturally gifted model with zero effort required, but the second a regular guy tries to play the hand he was dealt and maximize his value, he's public enemy number one.

Anyone else tired of the complete dishonesty around this stuff, or do they genuinely live in denial about how attraction works?
