I joined a poker stable 2 years ago. I won almost 8Ok last year but through immense luck and only kept some on the winnings because of different contracts.

Anyways, just letting you know that it's still an okay way to make some easy money, depending on where you live. If you are in the US, it's far better to just grind the casinos and play live.

There is a saying that playing poker professionally is a hard way to live an easy life, which I find an accurate.

It is very difficult in the beginning mentally, once you start beating midstakes, it all pays off.

Unfortunately, I was not able to study and move to higher stakes due to health issues, but I recently have it sorted out, so hopefully I can move to highstakes in the next 1 year and make about 7Ok a year consistently.

nah it's just me telling my story. Poker is not easy and wanted to give up many times, but actually succeeded in a short time. I reached midstakes in less than a half year.

I guess that you would need an initial investment right? And if things go wrong early you would be fucked

I'm trying to hustle and make it playing live 1/2 cash games.

Any experience with that?

I receive staking from my stable, so the bankroll is provided for.

Live games make me bored too fast and the hands are really slow. If I ever plan to grind live cash games, it would omaha not holdem.
I have no meaningful expereience in what you are asking anyways.

how did you learn? ive played a good 1000 hands on Bovada and only break-even playing by simple logic and behavior analysis. no success in turning a profit - is it that online poker is unprofitable or am I lacking the next level?

I receive coaching on a regular basis from my poker school
you need proper strategy to exploit population tendencies of unknown opponents for lower stakes to make profit

Poker will always be profitable as long as games are running. It's very easy to get folks into gambling with the hope of quick money. And they will lose in the longterm vs people who put the work in. 8O% of players are recreationals and don't know how to play solid winning poker strategy

How do you train? Train with poker ranges etc?

Do you play cash or tournaments?
