America lost itself somewhere in the late 2010s. I remember when I was a kid, things were so much better. The athletes had more integrity and played with passion. Many championship series were competitive, whether it was the 2016 NBA Finals or the 2016 World Series. The concept of load management in the NBA, one team domination, with the Dodgers barely registered in the mind of the American sports fan. The movies had deep themes riddled with childhood innocence, and you could generally tell the directors loved making great movies. Some great movies include Toy Story 3, Coco, and Big Hero 6. People felt more authentic, alive, and you could still banter with your boys without being called a “misogynist,” and people genuinely had more optimism. Urban areas were bustling, full of economic activity and fun. Songs still celebrated the youthful, rebellious Americana culture, whether through “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry or some Blink-182 songs. People could attribute this downfall to “wokeism” or the leftists, but I just want my childhood America back, man.
