i must find ways to "plant seeds" for progress

im useing a metaphor , i mean like makeing a conscious effort & then letting it create something over time . i desire ways to make progress with little effort . problem is that most of these "seeds" need to be watered over a period of time ... any1 have any ideas ? we can help eachother .
