Also, just going out to bars and clubs can work too, but beware of scammers, there are many on the streets and in bars and clubs, and hotels and pretty much everywhere. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Most women who cold approach guys in Thailand are scammers, prostitutes or ladyboys, so be careful. I have also read that ladyboys can be extremely aggressive, even after you say no to them. I have seen tourist videos where the guys get chased by ladyboys that they rejected.

Also, in Thailand, and probably in most countries of southeast asia, if you get scammed, don't try to fight the scammer because the locals will usually be on his side, so you'll end up in a fight against a huge group of locals and you'll get either sent to the hospital or die. But that isn't going to happen, as long as you don't start fights. It's easy to not get scammed if you do your research about the 50-100 most popular scams in Thailand before travelling. Most tourists don't bother, so they get scammed.
