I need helo navigating a solution to move a rock

So my bed is a loft and it has a rung 6 feet off the ground I have a 6 foot tall 175 rock in my bed (dont ask how I got it here) I want to move the rock onto the floor by tying a rope ~1 foot from the top of the rock and tossing it off my bed woukd this be effective in ensuring the rock doesnt hit the ground (btw the rock can bend its knees if needed to)
