I need some advice on how to socialize at college

Yes, most of us on this forum are antisocial, but maybe there are some social people among us. Or maybe there are some of you who are good at observing social people. How do we communicate with girls in college, and how do we make male friends?

When I was at College there was a starter week for freshmen and all we did was getting drunk every day, I didnt even know where the Campus was after this week jfl. Thats how I made friends

1. Join societies in what you are interested in.
2. Say yes to every social event , yes you will be drinking a lot.
3. Observe how extroverts interact with people and copy , you don’t wanna be a shy introvert as an adult.
4. Relax , people constantly say and do embarrassing and stupid shit all the time it’s okay.
5. I guess summary drink , say yes and talk to as many people as possible.

Because I have ADHD, I can’t drink alcohol. If I do, my life will be ruined. Is alcohol really that important for socializing?

I mean yes kinda , if you just want a close knit group of friends then your coursemates are your best bet and you still have like minded people in your societies.

But you won’t have that super social lifestyle you see in movies/tv. Plus alcohol is great at reducing social inhibition. But obviously don’t drink if you can’t.
