I always thought porn is the problem or being fat is the problem or being lazy is the problem. But the truth is it all boils down to the same thing:
When your brain gets used and addicted to dopamine everything else becomes meaningless. And since all the businesses out there know how dopamine works this is why dopamine addiction is so common these days. Food is designed to get you addicted. Porn is designed to get you addicted. Stores are designed to get you addicted. Games are designed to get you addicted.
EVERYTHING is designed to release dopamine in your brain. The world is one big fucked up crack kitchen. So since I have fallen victim to the dealers time and time again throughout my entire life I need to radically cut dopamine from my life like the fucking cancer it is. I need to be a fucking extremist about cutting the dopamine. Tibetan monk style asceticism.
Or to be more specific: Only PRODUCTIVE ways of getting dopamine - such as working out - shall be legitimate ways of getting dopamine. Any fake ways of deluding yourself into happiness shall be strictly restricted.
So here is what I have done so far and what I will be doing over the next couple of days:
1. I deleted my entire porn collection.
2. I will install porn blockers on all devices. I want to never watch porn again.
3. I will sell my PS4 and XBox 360 with all games.
4. I will look into replacing my phone with something simple that can only be used for calls and SMS.
5. I will move my PC outside in the storage room and only use my e-ink Tablet for the web because it can not play videos.
6. I have already deleted ALL social media accounts. I deleted Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube - 10 year old accounts - and I will block all of these sites on my router.
7. I will not listen to music with the exception of when I'm working out so my brain learns to associate working out with dopamine.
8. Food will be restricted to a healthy diet. Any kind of sweets is totally forbidden. Same goes for fast food.
I am also considering to rebuild my living room into a fitness studio.
I know you guys are not taking me seriously because I have not done too much yet and you shouldn't be until I have proven you wrong.
