It's probably something of your subconscious and thus hard to control.

Nobody pays your taxes or does anything to you, so why should their opinions and thoughts have such a huge importance in your life?

They most likely do things and behave in a certain way that you would not approve of, but you never see them changing for your approval. Why should you change for theirs?
