imagine raising a down syndrome child

even all the maga/republicans on x are having such an outrage over it (how bizarre)

thinking all life is equal over some unborn down syndrome child

muhhh all life is precious meanwhile the child’s quality of life will be shit and the parents get locked into decades of nonstop caregiving

the kid often deals with serious health problems, need multiple surgeries, feeding difficulties, speech delays infections

most of these kids will never live independently hold real jobs or escape bullying and social isolation

the financial cost alone can hit hundreds of thousands for therapies or medical bills


why pretend every life is sacred when screening lets us prevent this suffering especially in an already crowded world where healthy kids get ignored

the outrage from conservatives feels so hypocritical

they scream ‘pro life’ but dont offer real support for the aftermath

no universal healthcare no guaranteed aid

just empty platitudes about precious life while real families crumble under the weight

people act like abortion here is evil but ignore how majority of these diagnosed cases already end in termination for good reason
