I think it was in ninth grade
(prob was cuz it was just last year but my memory is fucked)
Anyway I can’t remember if it was in English class or in my native language class (danish)
but this book was actually very interesting now that I look back on it and I think it may have been one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life I just didn’t know it at the time
The book is about a future society where everything is built on how much you contribute to society. For example, if you are old and can’t work anymore you get killed by the government’s special forces called “the white men” I think. These are the guys who yk “clean up” n shiiet
Now the main character is in school and it’s close to the exams so he’s stressed because of you don’t get a high enough grade then you get killed off
He ends up needing to kill one of his friends from class because the white men force him to do so or else they would kill him instead (I cant really remember why but it was truly good writing)
And the book end with a bang so you never really know if the mc gets killed or kills his friend
There’s also so romance and shiiet in there too but here it’s shown that the government kinda chooses if you can have children or not based on your genetics
The whole book is basically just a black pill society
