i had a grade 2 posterior tongue tie and got it cut two months ago. it was really hard to mew properly before. i could only get the proper mind muscle connection for the backthird after mewing myself into a flow state. after getting it cut i can push the root hard straight up into the soft palate.

My tongue has those waves on the sides of them I forgot the name my pallet is 36mm the middle of my tongue relaxed from the left side to the right side is 55mm

if it has those waves it means you are sucking on your teeth when you swallow. i get the proper mind muscle connection for a fluid swallow and mewing when i imagine that my tongue is connected to my feet. this automatically straightens my spine. don't worry too much if your tongue scallops the side of the molars. just don't suck at them and focus on the midline of the tongue only

TIP: Suck tongue to roof of your mouth, cover as much of it as you can then swallow 3 times with mouth closed and hold that forever.

I’ve heard thumbpulling could help make it easier

How do you do everyday activities with such “ideal” posture when I have my head up and my back straight I can’t look down (obviously) so I don’t see how many activities are even possible with perfect posture which is required for mewing?

tongue staying suctioned to roof of mouth is most important, also just focus r-tard. If unsuctioned then do it again
the issue isn’t the suction “r-tard” it’s my tongue tie most likely

i used to think this way too. i would focus on engaging many different muscle groups (tongue, neck, upper back, lower back, glutes, abs) to maintain correct posture. this was very hard and not feasible to do throughout the day.

it all fell into place when i engaged the root of my tongue correctly by imagining that it connected all the way down to my feet. it straightens my spine from the pelvis to the neck. i just engage my lower abs and glutes a little, and do chin tucks here and there

If you were to reply to a message how would you do it? Would you stop the posture and then go back to it like you would have to look down no?

i'm always trying to engage the root and moving my head around doesn't screw it up. but i usually hold my phone at chest height. i don't move my head down or forward to look at my phone, i just move my eyeballs.

i'm 19. my bones have not changed since i've only been doing this correctly a couple of months, and i'm still working on nighttime mewing. however, proper swallowing made my buccinators atrophy, and the tongue tie cutting released the tension from many facial muscles, so my cheeks are even hollower as a result. my sleep quality has also improved from better breathing. i used to wakeup 1-3 times per night to piss. now it's 0 or 1 times. i'm trying to undo the damage done to my face and health by 4.5 years of braces (no extractions).

what did the braces do to your face that negatively effected it?

i had braces twice in my life. the first time was one year from age 9-10. the second time was for 3.5 years from 13 to 16, was extra long because of covid adding basically an additional year to the treatment. before the first time i used to not have a bump on my nose, it only came after that. my gonial angle was also much better as a child, probably close to 105 since i have a slightly brachy skull.

during the second time, i developed mouthbreathing and airway issues subconciously. the airway dentist and osteopath helped me connect the dots. i started snoring, having to wakeup multiple times per night, ibs, high anxiety, feeling fatigued. so no doubt it recessed me even more. the airway dentist told me my airway is worse than the average person's. thankfully i'm gl and mtn tho, but my face would have been a lot better. i had a deep bite before any treatment, my bite is not perfect now since i didn't get any permanent retainers nor did i wear the regular retainer.

don't forget to rep all my replies bhai :p

So braces alone aren’t going to descend me? I just need to be careful with my habits

they won't descend you if you're an adult. but they can possibly shrink your arch and start cause you to lose tongue/lip function. best to get self-ligating (damon) braces) if you actually want to gain any progress from mewing. in my opinion, traditional braces will not make this possible.

Tongue tie doesn't need to be the cause. It can be maxilarry recession and a narrow palate
