For me it was boxing. Did it for 5 years 1 gold and 2 silver medals but I messed up my shoulder but I am able to do it again just to nervous

I’m in muay thai now. In my gym there’s bjj also so I might take it. The only problem is that I will go to the army in the summer so I can’t grind it.

I’m locked every day of the week. I’m not sure if the weekends are off even.

Also I think I didn’t continue was because I was scared of competitions or something.

yea for me I didn’t compete until I had trained for a realllly long time. I wanted to be comfortable and actually WANT to go out and compete before I went and did it

I wanna do BJJ for a change tbh. The art itself is so fun and I feel like it's less mentally exhausting than striking arts. I've been boxing for years now but man, no matter how good or strong you get that fear of getting punched in the face never leaves, you gotta check yourself mentally each time 😂

It would be nice to switch into BJJ whenever I grow tired of boxing

Bjj is like chess but for your body

I think it depends on the level tbh
Bjj is safe for beginners. Also people in bjj tend to be more mature than in the striking arts

Yeah for beginners any combat sport is safe but I mean like mid to high and it depends what club ur in and how the coach is etc

Exactly, it's more of a thinking man's game than other combat arts. So many different possibilities and the sport will only keep growing, unlike something such as boxing where people have been throwing the same punches for ages, it's reached a point where everything has been done and innovation is difficult to achieve atp

In my experience bjj is harder than other martial arts but the people there are more respectful.

And if you’re a striker then the natural route is to compete because there’s no other route.
