Followup on my thread about starting work, it's been good so far, I've been moving a lot of people around and done a bunch of stuff. Well today I had to transport a dead person, she was wrapped up so I could not see her face. I took her from the room she got taken care of to the morgue, there must have been 30+ dead people in that room. Was such a surreal feeling because I just realized I have never encountered human death in my life before and now it will be commonplace for me. I like the work so far it's interesting. The guy I worked with said he has "seen everything" and he has only worked a year. He also told me that the morgue is quite inconsiderate at cleaning up so first time he went there when he started he saw someone in the middle of an autopsy with his chest torn up. He said his record for dead people from night to night was 13 people in a span of 24 hours. A girl I work with also said they had containers full of corpses back in Covid-19 times. It's pretty crazy to work at a hospital tbh I went from sitting at home shitposting to helping real people in their lives. Also I average 20-30k steps a day so I will most likely lose weight.

5.5/10, only works with the title but collapses as soon as you read the post. Kinda witty that's why it gets a 5.5/10.

I always wanted to work in a hospital but I realized it clashes with my OCD so I couldn’t continue my studies.

Lol what, you’re just wheeling bodies around 💀
I saw a dead person today, 99% of the people I move around are living people going to and from checkups, surgery etc.

Dead bodies are so interesting ngl. I have only seen my grandfather dead but it’s definitely surreal seeing someone dead irl. They’re just laying there completely still, discoloured

Yeah feels very very surreal. Can't even begin to think what war must feel like if only a dead person is that impactful.

War will truly fuck you completely. Have you watched the new kingsman movie? The war scene in that movie was already brutal, and then imagine how many friendly fire kills happen in real life, or how many soldiers simply don‘t care about taking prisoners of war back home but just put a bullet into the head of a wounded opponent instead.

Yeah for sure, war is hell.

Didn't you ask them what do they do with dead women....

We sent all of them to the autopsy place so everyone gets cut up.

Byw was your reaction not being shocked or overly emotional but just “damn” followed by a few seconds of intense reflection ?

Closer to the latter. I was not externally emotional nor did I feel a lot of shock.

but its scary and dreadful or not?
It's initially a bit shocking but I assume I will get used to it, gore and death are commonplace for me now. You gain a different perspective.

There is an invisible wall between gore on a video you can just pause it or close it down vs a person gored out IRL you can't escape it, you see the blood, you smell it sometimes, you hear their suffering noises and screams, the aura of pain is sizzling in the air.

i see. it must be such a traumatic experience to be exposed with something like that.

Can be if it goes from 0-100. Usually building up slight tolerance over time is what makes you able to handle it. I will most likely numb off to most of it eventually.

hm but when you are in a war and see others die does that medical tolerance fade away? it all depends in the situation and the environment.

People dying from accidents or natural reasons is not the same as people dying from active violence so most likely war is way different.

Good luck keeping your OCD and stress levels low when you see an actual body that turned inside out for an autopsy or a severe accident. Then reality will hit. Mirin tho cause hospital work is brutal.

I still recall the first time I got up close to a corpse. The smell is of death is very distinguishable.
