I remember when I was 10 years old, I was standing in a sloping field looking over the horizon
In the distance I spotted a group of older boys gathered around something, I couldn’t tell what it was at first but I soon realised it was a fox
The older boys had caught a fox and were playing around with it, chatting and laughing amongst each other
One of the boys poured a liquid from a plastic water bottle onto the fox and pulled something out of his pocket…
It was a lighter
He set the poor fox on fire and let it go. Away went the old fox, dashing and running around the field to get the flames out
The boys all laughed as the fox started to roll around the grass in an attempt to extinguish the flames
When I saw this I quickly got the hell out of there. Thankfully they never saw me. I still sometimes wonder what those boys are up to now
