East coast asians (excluding the trendy NYC asians) are way less style maxxed compared to west coast asians. The asian community and culture are strong in the west. More people comfortable in their own skin

I think its selection bias to a degree here. Kpop and anime is seen as being "alternative" so it selects for people who don't fit in/ feel like they don't fit in with the mainstream. And the top reason people feel like they don't fit in throughout high school/ college is because of looks (aka the blackpill).

honestly i myself question the validity of kpopmaxxing, probably because i don't really find those kpop dudes attractive. imo a more valid strategy is moving to california or even texas if you're asian, much stronger community and higher amounts of asians in general
