Is there anyway to get out of a housing lease? I toured an apartment and ended up signing for it, but I had no idea that meant I can't get out of it. Now, I am forced to try and find someone to replace my lease. Fuck

Just tell them you want to cancel, if you havent paid any money they wont want to go through the trouble so theyll just cancel the whole thing. If you dont pay money I suppose technically you would be legally liable for that but of course theyre not going to take you to court over some lease for a random poor kid, they will just cancel it. When you tell them, they might say “oh no we cant cancel it, its already signed” but just say you wanna talk to the manager or owner or whatever, and tell them you need to cancel it, you dont have the money, your mom died, you got covid, you got in a car crash, your brother has cancer and you had to pay for his chemotherapy. Doesnt matter what exactly, just make it sound like youre not worth the trouble
