That is 100% your answer jfl. I try to wash pillowcases along with bedsheets once a week or sometimes every 2 weeks if I forget (same with blankets). From my experience, the smell usually starts occurring after like 3 weeks.

It's a thing that normally happens anyways like if you visit some older person's home you kind of retain that smell for a bit.

Yea, usually happens regardless though. Go outside for a bit and you'll still have some kind of smell depending on where you went. I used to smell like cigarettes sometimes because some people at my friend's house were chain smokers.

Are you nopoo by chance? I stopped using shampoo like 8 months ago and switched to some more natural stuff, mostly using water for my hair everyday (with a showerhead attachment that filters out some of the chemicals from water treatment). I noticed when I ate really shitty stuff that week, it caused my hair to get a little greasy and actually create a stench. When I switched back to eating super healthy, there was no grease (hair quality felt soft and silky) and no smell.

Could be that your diet is doing you dirty if you don't use shampoo. I think when you are on nopoo it can reflect your health.

Not sure tbh. No shampoo is kind of hit or miss for a lot of people. I stopped using it because it always made my hair quality so much worse (when I used shampoo I was using it once a week and even then it made it dead). Also gave me dermatitis and some doctors tried to put me on some kind of steroid cream.

I'm not really a doctor though, so my knowledge kind of stops there if it's not a diet problem. The only thing I can think of is maybe two things:

1. The area you live in is humid and hot causing you to sweat a lot. If you aren't doing this already, rinse your hair with water like everyday and this could help. Cold or luke-warm is good, never wash with hot water.
2. Your hair type could have an influence on this, you might have fine hairs, which also means you have more oil glands.
3. Your water quality is likely garbage if you live in a populated city or big town. This has an effect on #2 since your hair could be trying to compensate with the chemicals (likely chlorine since that's what most water treatments use to sanitize the water, but it also dries the shit out of your hair and skin). You should probably get some kind of water filter, but I'm not sure if they even work tbh. I attached one to my showerhead when I stopped using shampoo and I think it might have helped.
