I’m currently on vacation with my family, and today we went to a water park. Normally I would’ve just sat on the sidelines and watched everyone else, but this time I actually got in the water, went on the rides, messed around, and genuinely had fun.

At one point I realized I was smiling without forcing it. It hit me that I honestly can’t remember the last time I smiled like that. It feels like it’s been years.

I don’t know if this feeling will last, but for the first time in a very long time, I feel like I might actually be happy.

It’s been 20 years since all of mine passed away. One already did 6 years before I was even born, in the late 1980s. And I was to remember the other two. The only one I met was when they were already terminally ill. So I hope you at least got to spend time with them and that you made memories with them that you can cherish.
