Title. You can ask the germancels here my german is pretty decent. I do have an accent and foreign twang when speaking but I have no problem talking in german in day to day life. I only struggle with legal documents and spellings. Most immigrants I've seen from Germany can barely 2 sentences in german. Those niggas all stick to their ethnic enclaves and just speak turkish, Arab or whatever. They never learn german so they can't get german cupcakes.

a massive amount of germans can speak english pretty well so there isnโ€™t going to be much of a huge issue. i stayed in a little german village in bavaria with a population of 300 and we had older locals able to speak english fluently. it was amazing

To get to c1 level german I would have to move to Germany or atleast move to a place with a lot of german speakers. People don't talk about this but many languages have the infamous intermediate plateau that you run into it progress feels painfully slow after B2 because passive knowledge what you understand outpaces active use what you produce naturally.

You need to handle implicit meaning subtle sarcasm, complex arguments in long texts, speeches, specialized vocabulary, idiomatic expressions. You also require a good deal of cultural immersion to get the hang of a lot of the stuff. It's like this glass ceiling that exists. It exists for English also but it's more subtle because anglo culture is dominant throughout the world

Speaking is where i fall apart. I can speak well but I have a strong accent. I also still struggle to make double consonant sounds like ch in ich. I just say ish but that is incorrect

How immigrants who just steeped foot in Germany look at a German nigga after asking for directions just to hear him speak for 5 minutes with the most aggressive tone ever

Which is recorded with a Google Translater to convert it to Indian just for the Google ai to start crying but

the German brah deadass giving directions in the most polite way to him

I had the option to go to another university which would have forced me to go to an international country to study and work for 4 years before getting my degree. Turned it down as it was inferior to my current university.
