I guess we have different definitions of success, but yes, if we're using yours then it definitely is possible to achieve even by 'normal' people.I agree with the fact that you usually need some sort of trait in you to go very well above average in terms of success. Whether that be looks, IQ, athletic talent or even raw hard work. I know some pretty talentless people who because very successful with a ridiculous amount of hard work but…
Your actual ability to work hard is not within your full control. Only a small group of people can “grind” for years on end consistently without burn out. It’s an intrinsic trait. Sure, you can try to cheat this with drugs, but it’s not the same.
I would argue though that a lot of people never really unlock their true potential and “gifts”. This draining life makes it very hard to do so unless you come from a very good family who encourages you and gives you a safety net which is also luck.
I’d say I’m 50/50 on it. I think most people should really try and see.
Personally I'd argue that that kind of life isn't really a success but a failure.
Sure they might have a nicer car or house than the average person, but they've wasted tons and tons and tons of both their time & energy, just to end up a slave with some prettier toys.
Average with a happy life + free time > above average with a stressful life + no free time.
Most people are meant to 'lose' and to serve a small % of people, but sure, there's nothing wrong with trying.
At least they gave it a shot, right?
