Did a 19 day no shampoo journey = stronger hair, a lot more itchy scalp, not really less dandruff

Today I was getting reading and in my hair was a shit ton of white stuff 😱

This is what my dandruff looks like on a t shirt

There also was a big fat chunk in my hair

Now here is the thing, I don’t know what is wrong with my scalp. The tiny white flakes are obviously a sign of a dry scalp and dry skin, yet the big flakes are a sign of fungus dandruff. The problem here is that I don’t know what I have?

Dry scalp + Fungus = Ketozcone (I think that’s the name) will attack the fungus yet dry out my scalp even more

Dry scalp = give it more oils to make the dryness go away (doesn’t really work great since then my hair is full of olive oil for example and I need to use a shampoo to make the oil go away from the hair which isn’t good for the hair on a regular basis)

Only fungus = I don’t think so cuz then I wouldn’t be getting these tiny white flakes?

Another thing I want to add is that my scalp gets even more itchy when I’m sweating or doing a sport but if that’s normal. My scalp looks like it has a second white layer :feelswhy:

I don’t know how to solve this

Did you get a ketoconazole shampoo and try it yet? The other shampoo you showed me isn't on the same level.

I really think you have a fungal problem so fix that first.
Whatever dryness you get after that can be managed.
Ketaconzole shampoo
jfl at u not shampooing shouldve put egg whites in there too

@Kara is right, try keto shampoo first. if that doesnt clear it, then we can look at other issues. but fungal is the most likely explanation here.

I have dermatologist appointment in 4 days. I think imma wait and look what he says?

Olive oil is basically just an occlusive, its a 2 out of 5 on the comedogenic scale so you might clog your pores. Also it feeds yeast/fungal issues because of the oleic acid
Now it makes sense
