I’ve hypothesized before that online dating is purposefully very inconsistent with how much they show a guys profile, in order to sell premium subscriptions. They might boost your profile for a month and give you tons of matches (whether you’re able to meet up with/fuck them is on you) but then a month later basically shadow ban you so you’re only getting a couple matches a week. You’re then in a spot where you know from experience the app can get you pussy, but aren’t getting it at the time so you’re more likely to shell out for premium.

I’ve been on OLD for like 8 years, over time the quality has gone down a bit for sure, but it’s always been up and down for me.
