Wrong, a man needs to have a goal and reason to get to work in the morning. For centuries since we werent in the caves, that reasons have been women, family and descendants. Why do you think suicides have grown so much since there are no big wars?

if you mean technological progress, its the same thing. the biggest leaps were when wars were fought and countries competed in technological armaments.
If you think socially and philosophically, then the overall shift cant be there because everything has already been said, and if you've read Ayn Rand's books, you can't go anywhere further than that.
