EKG and ultrasound. I had severe pectus excavatum and got NUSSed recently. The expansion of my chest wall diminished the symptoms by a considerable amount but I still struggle with a constant murmur.

Mixture of both I suppose. The pectus didn't help but my family has a nasty rap when it comes to heart health. Dad's dad died from a very rare form of heart cancer, mom's dad died from a widowmaker, 2 of my aunts died from a widowmaker, lost a cousin a few years ago due to a widowmaker... so I think it's safe to assume my heart was predisposed to be defective and the pectus only worsened it.

I just know the survival rate of them is very low because it's a complete blockage in the most important artery of the heart. Otherwise I'm unaware of the specifics and circumstances that culminate it.
