My mom is Muslim and my dad is an atheist. But whenever she talks to me about Islam, it just makes sense. Maybe it's because I haven’t learned much about other religions, I don’t know. I just feel like I want to be religious. What on earth is this conspiracy? His best life? At the beginning, what benefits were there? People were literally being killed and tortured to death for the 13 years of his life as a prophet in Mecca. If you read the ahadith, you will see that he had extra restrictions(being obligated to pray every night for hours, etc etc). Also, he wasn't allowed to take zakah. He also lived in poverty all his life. If he was doing everything for this life, he could have been the equivalent of a multi-millionaire by manipulating his companions. He also risked his life multiple times for this religion. He was actually almost killed physically multiple times(examples: Battle of Uhud, the migration). He was also poisoned. Yet, he internalized the teachings of this religion very well. He was called "the walking Quran." What on planet earth is this emotional fear mongering? In Islam, you have the full right to enjoy the permissible aspects of your culture. This is a very, very common question. If you search this up on youtube, you'll get a plethora of results. I advise TheMuslimLantern's vids on this. Anyhow, here's an answer

1. People did not have their heads chopped off the second they told their friends, "umm...bro...I think my faith isn't that strong." Once someone expresses their concerns, people are supposed to answer their questions, as is happening right now. Let's just say they weren't convinced. Again, people will not get their heads chopped off as soon as they say "yeah bro it doesn't make sense." People are supposed to be given multiple chances at staying Muslims.
2. For the government(whether it be then or now) to even know that you are not a Muslim, you must publicly announce it. There is simply no other way. Especially back then, there was no neurolink checking if you had doubts or not. When you publicly announce something like that, you are disturbing the faith of the weak. Islam's rules make sense from an Islamic paradigm. In Islam, if you leave Islam, you're practically doomed to Hell. If you disturb the faith of the weak and young and they end up leaving as well, they're also going to Hell. By putting your decision out there like that, you have intentionally stirred up doubts in the minds of the public.

Like many other questions, this can be approached from different angles. There are probably other answers are well.
