i think videogame and internet addiction is comorbid with mental disorders and low social status

i've never seen some normie get addicted to video games (with the exception of kids ofc) but i have seen more than a dozen people i know who were mentally ill/low social status (including myself) get addicted to the internet and video games

Yeah for a few years when I was younger I was addicted to playing competitive online shooters, mostly halo. Its like a combination of a good retreat and something that you're obsessive about getting better at. I think thats a similar experience to playing sports except it doesnt require in person interaction which is why I liked it so much.

I'm not really addicted to video games and don't even play it anymore (did so as a kid though), I'm much more addicted to the internet in general, especially places like these where you're free to speak your mind and with a lot of diverse content in it. Other than that yeah, being addicted to vidya (not just casually playing it) is an incel trait.

I think its true in some cases, and it might even cause low social status rather then be a cause of low social status
personally I was playing video games before even have too much social interaction and going to kinder garden (around late age 2)

I am mainly addicted to the internet right now, and at times get addicted to hoi4 for a few weeks and then stop
honestly I feel like I learned from the internet quite a lot and it stimulated me a lot intellectually wise, I look at this forum
and incels.is as an important mile stone in my life with figuring out myself and things that happen in daily basis

I have a social group and friends who respect me now, but idk if its because of past experience, personality or a combination, but
I enjoy the internet more and usually refuse to go out and meet people
