Consciousness is pure and should be thought of as detached from our mind, and the myriad of functions, reactions, and chemicals that quell our existence. All of which fall together to create an illustration of “self”. This idea of your “self” exists and is driven by your perception of your space in humanity and, further, reality. Your perception is permeable; flux in how it ebbs and flows in response to how the world around you, sees you, respects you, loves you. Though our consciousness is universally the same across all varieties of “life”.
