I have some sort of food allergy (presumably gluten) and i woke up covered in red bumps all over my arms and legs as a result of eating whatever it is I’m allergic to. Naturally, i visited urgent care because it’d be bad for my rep to go somewhere looking like i have scarlet fucking rot. The doctor said it was my body’s reaction to something I ate and the solution was a type of steroid called prednisone (p10). The nurse shot some of it up my ass cheek and i nearly passed out, so i had to lay limp on the bed for 30 minutes going in and out until i could stand. I was prescribed to take 6 pills the day after, 5 after that, 4 after that, and so on until the bottle was empty. The first day, i couldnt sit down. I got home and i physically couldnt sit at my computer, it felt like my body wasn’t stimulated enough if i wasnt up and moving. I sprinted 20 minutes to the drug store and raided the clearance shelves for an hour and went back home. When i got home, in order to sleep, i took double the usual dose of benadryl, a handful of melatonin, and double the dose of some pain killers. The next day when i took the pills i couldnt get out of my car, i laid there slumped in the seat for hours because i didnt have the energy to stand, and it felt like that all the days that followed. Until it gradually wore off. How do people seriously take steroids voluntarily? Firstly, the shot in my ass hurt like actual fucking hell, on my soul she held that needle up there for 10 seconds and i felt every second. Secondly, the shift in routine, behavior, and emotion was way too much for me. Don’t get me wrong, it cleared the allergic reaction but that shit sucked. Folk who use roids are MONSTERS.
