There are thousands of verses in the Bible that promote slavery, violence, oppression of racial minorities, oppresion of women, oppresion of any minor group, God also orders and condones people being kiiled in the Bible multiple times, it's not just cherrypicked in fact most of the Bible is like this

There is no "promotion of slavery," there are laws on it. theres also a difference between eternal / natural/ divine law, what is good is constant. God only permitted certain things, and that was actually much better than the alternative.

“Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves.”
Leviticus 25:44

“You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life.”
Leviticus 25:45–46

“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged. But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be avenged, for the slave is his money.”
Exodus 21:20–21

“If a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as the male slaves do.”
Exodus 21:7

“When you go out to war against your enemies, and the Lord your God gives them into your hand and you take them captive, you may take any of their women you like and make them your wives.”
Deuteronomy 21:10–11

“Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ.”
Ephesians 6:5

“Let all who are under a yoke as slaves regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.”
1 Timothy 6:1

“Slaves, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.”
1 Peter 2:18

I mean, I addressed this in my previous message. God outlined laws for slavery. And there's a difference between eternal / natural/ divine law. God is not saying that slavery is morally righteous or ideal, these passages either lack context or can be explained by the difference in the types of laws.

Leviticus 25:44
This is a permission of slavery. In no way can you say that this means that "slavery is just" is in the natural law. This is a temporary evil and is treated as such, as God outlines rules that leave slaves far better off than they were treated during this time. Same goes for the next quote you gave me.

If any of these quotes you think are particularly damning, tell me, and I'll address them in specific. Because you can't seriously think you're the first person to bring up this critique.

That defense still fails because the text itself does not treat slavery as a reluctant or temporary evil In Leviticus 25 44 it explicitly says you may buy slaves they become your property and you may pass them down to your children for life wtf

that is not mitigation it is permanent chattel slavery If slavery violated natural law it would not be legally authorised the same way land and animals are God bans many practices outright yet never condemns slavery as sinful Saying it was better than surrounding cultures is irrelevant moral law is not defined by being slightly less cruel than others
