I want to erase the memory of religion from every human being on earth.

Not because I'm a muhhh edgy atheist but because I wanna see what human beings come up with next.

IMO it would just resort back to how european paganism was, worship of ancestral heroes until they are deified into gods

Interesting, I think it would just restart the process, single ethnic specific paganism, then major unification for societal balance.

They will worship statues until a prophet is sent down to reveal the actual true message is that there is only one God who is divine and not seeable

Yea. Thing is, technology has advanced so far that the trust of the general population towards ridiculous claims is very low unless supported by sufficient concrete evidence. If anyone is gonna come up with a new religion (keep in mind I've erased the memory of ALL RELIGIONS aka the concept of organized deity worship) it'd be really insane to see

Indians would probably come up with some red otter deity or some bullchit

Deification of ancient heroes would probably take a while. By then, technology would advance even more to the point I feel would be ridiculous to believe in something like that. Besides I don't think that ever happened to the point of a structural organization that focuses on the worship of these deified heroes. It probably was more of a local pride typa thing. To increase morale.

Polytheism and animism doesn't sound like they'd be adopted by the majority of the population considering the current level of skepticism in the average person.

IMO i believe that figures like odin/wotan, zeus, jupiter and all those gods in european pagan mythologies were most likely real peoples that were defied to the point of godhood, especially since these religions were far more ancestral to people
