I have offer to work at big tech which would be amazing for my career but you know how it is in these Big Tech and suddenly you're one cog in a massive machine. The scope narrows, the tickets multiply, and the meetings never end. It takes the joy of my work and turns it into some efficient clinical corporate weapon. I had the most fun at startups and mid tier firms t

Why never have it? If you are from the US. You could retire easily by your late 30s on most blue collar jobs if you invest smartly

I guess “never have it” isn’t exactly true. I will eventually make upper 5 figs from commercial electrical work, and besides dropping ~50k on surgeries in my 20s, my only other major life goal is to retire. I will be living with my parents rent free for a long time too to make it happen

It’s just that I feel it will come far too late in life to make a meaningful difference in QOL. I want to escape now and not decades later. To live out that fantasy of being young, financially independent, and attractive

But it’s simply not in the cards

Maybe even drastically cut down my surgery plans to a bare minimum, eliminate-worst-failos approach (so only genio, lip lift, and periorbital fat grafts [something I could afford right now prob] vs full face reconstruction with Giant Implants lul) to get there even faster
