Fresh never frozen, grass fed beef is a good start.

Just buy live chickens, rabbits, etc, slaughter them and eat them.
If you're really poor, you can make some simple pigeon traps, those in rural areas are just like game meat, those from urban area however may eat all sorts of crap, be exposed to pollution or have parasites, so it's better to keep them for a week in cages while you feed them organic seeds, pure water and you check to see if they are healthy.

doesn't always have to be cows

usually when I go hunting I hunt for moose, deer, rabbit and if I take trip to hotter areas crocodile or wild boar

it's all really good

Look for the best rated butcher shop near you and go through their reviews and photos to see if they have high quality meat. I wouldn’t trust buying raw meat from those Asian meat markets but that’s also an option since I hear they have many options.
