Both countries have some of the highest HDI in Africa and Senegal has a very very low crime rate. Dakar is one of the best city in all of Africa. Senegal does have some issues with Jola people but since it’s localized in the Casamance region and Jola people are a minority it doesn’t affect the stability of the nation that much. Homogeneity is why Senegal doesn't have a history of political instability as crazy as Nigeria's.

Somalia does not count because it’s divided by clans, but Somaliland is more homogeneous in clans(mostly Isaaq) and, surprise, also more developed and peaceful!

But, me personally, I'd prefer to live in a multi-cultural/multi-racial society since it makes life more exciting than seeing the same people who do the same shit and believe in the same things as you. Btw I’m not saying more heterogeneous countries can never work. They could in some cases but expecting incompetent and sell out African politicians to make it work in young countries old of not even a century with weird borders, or even care that much, is naive. Japan is safer (maybe the safest country on earth) and cleaner than the UK or Germany. Customer service is top-notch, and people are very polite. Japanese live long lives: Japan has the highest life expectancy. Sure no country is perfect, but Japan is a great country.
