I was caught cheating on a test

As you all know I’m an iqlet and today I had a math test and I didn’t know anything about it because the entire semester I was slacking off in class or even when I was paying attention I couldn’t understand the math (algebra 2).

there’s this Indian guy that’s super smart that sits next to me and he helped me cheat by looking at his paper, but when it was the end of the class and everyone was handing in their tests the teacher noticed that I was looking at his paper and called me out in front of the entire class, when everyone left and the class was empty he looked me dead in the eye with so much hatred as if I had killed this man’s family and then told me to leave before I could apologize.

I’m so embarrassed and scared, I hope
he doesn’t report this, if he does it’s over for me.

Also leave suggestions in comments on how I should apologize and clear things up please.

Getting caught cheating on a test is no biggie lol. Nowhere near as bad as many other things you could get caught doing kek

I guess just deal with whatever the school's punishment is. Can't be that bad lol it's not like they're gonna send you to prison for cheating on a test. If he reports he's a dirty snitch though. In my French class everyone cheated and shared answer keys when the teacher wasn't around

99% of teachers are rotten control freaks. In my whole life I've only had two extremely chill teachers who made the class flow so easily you didn't even feel the need to cheat.
