data science doesn't get hard unless your a graduate, i just thought it was so painfully boring, most data scientist usually switch to swe eventually. machine learning has this problem too, unless your doing research your probably gonna get stuck into a usual data scientist job even at a faang level. Need masters+ usually a phd to get the good jobs

Yes, I did. I was motivated, until I got sick (I got the flu) and I missed out on two weeks worth of classes, which is a lot to catch up on. I also missed two exams due to being sick, so I was at a disadvantage. I decided to drop out, especially after I looked at the job requirements for data scientists and realizing I couldn't do all that work (too low IQ).

This is only the second year that there are data science majors in the country (and that too limited to the three main cities here). There were already data science minors at universities but this is new at college-level. The pay isn't that great from what I saw.
I'd have to wait until September to enroll again, but to be honest, I don't think STEM is for me. I did have nice classmates.

Discrete mathematics and programming, which were the main subjects. SQL was fun, but you need to ace all three things which I was not capable of. It made me realize how high IQ pajeets are with their programming knowledge.
damn i went from cs to it to just focus on internships, but i don't think you really need a specific degree for software engineering specifically, could go math or stats too
Good for you, man! I generally got around D+ or C- marks (I think) for maths. But that was high school level, college level is more advanced in comparison and I generally was never a fan of math myself (I did like it before I became a junior at high school).
True, but it depends on what I wish to learn. For instance, maths? No.... but philosophy? Hell yeah, that's nice. I took philosophy classes in adult high school. I scored around 30/40% for my first exam but then I got the hang of it. I managed to get 85% for my finals!
In the Netherlands, having a college degree is standard. Otherwise you won't get a decent job over here.

This was the first time I actually had East Asian classmates, LOL. A few Chinese dudes and a few Filipino people (two dudes, one chick). The chick did code at a young age, because of her father. She had a white boyfriend btw, go figure. But she was nice at least.

We learned about sets, subsets, logic/statements, combinatorics, and something with overlapping graphs or something. You'll probably understand if you keep practicing, but I personally didn't like it.

I don't have a number in mind, and well, the Netherlands isn't really expensive, depending on your lifestyle. It's very doable on minimum wage, but don't expect to be able to go out every weekend or something or that you can buy anything you want without saving up for it.

They don't offer that major here in the Netherlands. Even data science wasn't a thing in 2021. It changed in 2022. It'd probably take a few years. But it's ok, I'll do something else, was never a STEM guy.
220,000 a year? You'd never get a job like that. My cousin earns 120k a year and that's very unheard of over here. You would likely earn 24k here after graduating from college but that's enough to live an okay lifestyle. You won't be poor but you won't be rich either. You'd have to invest if you wanna be rich or get into crypto.
i mean i had an internship that paid like 11k /month total but it was in person (use to be remote), the return offer was 180k- 220k (VHCOL), the goal is to stack 2 100k jobs that have legacy tech to maintain and work less than 30 hrs

I was talking about the Netherlands. For instance, nurses earn around 24k/year here, whereas in the States they make 90k/year. You definitely earn more in the States than you do in the Netherlands but we also have a welfare system that you guys don't have, for instance.

I took a more advanced CS class in HS and did dog shit. If I took an easy one I probably would’ve immediately gone to majoring CS and would’ve possibly joined .is on my main either a little later or a little earlier.
Have you thought about what you want to study in college? I think you're a NEET now, my advice is to think about what you want to study in college. Being a drop-out is no fun, time will pass and you'll end up a guy nearing his 30 with no job, no money, no degree and worst: no bitches.
