It's like this with literally 98% of the time we spend on screens, whether it's News / Discord / Reddit / Insta / TikTok / YouTube / Video games, etc.

It's all just irrelevant slop that just consumes our energy and attention, instead of maybe just resting / sleep / taking a shower / walking outside / doing something productive in general in the house etc.

A few years ago I had a thought / plan (but which unfortunately I did not implement yet ) for the future where to stop to use these completely, to only use weather app, messenger and WhatApp (AI and YouTube but only if I need to actively search for a particular piece of informationat some moment)..

..and that only when I actively want to look for someone / I get a notification from someone that they have messaged me, and to only go on Reddit or news sites once a week for like a few minutes, on sunday, and where to look at the most important news from the past week (nothing ever happens anyway) or even shorter, to ask AI to explain to me as briefly as possible all the events of the last week..
