Lol, there were a bunch of people but that’s to be expected. I was alone and most people were with their family or friends. Everyone was super into the show and the artist was happy that everyone was vibing so much, and appreciating them, because he said “I reflect the energy you guys give me.” And I was just standing still the whole time. Even the security guards were looking at me like “Why the hell are you even here?”

In the queue, I let people go in front of me a few times because I was at the end. I heard some chicks using the word “normie” constantly. They said shit like “everyone’s here a normie” and I almost wanted to turn around and say “I’m definitely NOT a normie.” But I’m too anti-social to speak to any strangers.

But yeah it was fun, I enjoyed it. The performance was good, just different from what I expected, sounded great live.

Luckily, unlike last time, I wasn’t the only one who was alone, there were a few attendants who were by themselves as well.

You wouldn’t know the guy! It was K-pop hahaha. I’d send a song but I don’t think you like that kinda music.

I definitely did NOT see that coming. I couldn’t suppress my smiling and there was another chick in front of me who just turned around to look at them and then she saw me smiling but I was like oh shit maybe she thinks I’m smiling at her. But I was just doing that because I thought the conversation behind me was funny.

This is the issue i have with concerts, i just can't imagine "participating" in them..

Like vibing, singing along, forming mosh-pits or headbanging, it feels too embarrassing for some reason.

At every concert i went to, i just stood still (like you) and enjoyed the music.

Exactly!!! That’s how I feel. It’s just so embarrassing, and for me it’s unnatural since I’m not a person who expresses himself like that. Funnily enough, my DNA test says I like dancing but I really don’t. Glad I’m not the only one. Next to me, there was a girl who was by herself and she was also basically standing around, moving a tiny bit only, not screaming and dancing like the other attendants were.

This is why i hate clubbing, i literally cannot do it. I'm not even high inhib, i just cannot get myself to dancemaxx or enjoy like a normal person. Not even alcohol fixes this for me, i will never be able to understand how people enjoy clubbing or concerts

Same here! I’m generally not a concertgoer but sometimes I just have to go, like if it’s the very first time they’re coming to perform. That’s why I went to this show last night. He’s from Korea and this was the first time ever performing in Europe. So I knew I had to be there.

There’s more people like us! I also thought I was the only one, but now I found out about you, and @trenace450 and the girl near to me at the show.

And yeah, DNA testing companies also tell you about traits you might have based on DNA. I think it should be taken with a grain of salt. It said I like to dance whereas I really don’t. But it’s also right sometimes. I made a thread about this once where I listed all the traits and said if they applied or not. I can look for it if you want.

I guess there's a lot of people that don't enjoy the entire "partying" aspect of shows/clubs, but still enjoy the artist and their music. Atleast that's how i view myself. :feelsautistic:

That’s exactly me!! I’m just there to support the artist. I also bought a hoodie. It was pretty expensive as far as merch goes. €75 for a hoodie, cheapest was €45 for a sleeve. I bought the hoodie. You and I have so much in common!

Ayyy! This is the second time I’ve gone to a show this year. Last year I went to a metalcore show as it was their farewell tour, they broke up after 20+ years. One of the supporting acts’ leads kinda bumped me with his shoulders when he walked past me but it wasn’t anything bad. It happened after he was done performing. XD

Yeah the merchandise is usually extremely expensive, it's pretty sad because metal bands have extremely good shirts and jackets, but yet they're so expensive! 😢

A while ago i went to a cannibal corpse x municipal waste concert and was able to get a t-shirt for 50 bucks... Atleast the upside is that you can still resell them, and for even more with time.

Alright how come you was just standing still then or is that just anxiety?
Cause I feel like I would do that if I was alone.
And I’m most likely on the spectrum

From what I’ve seen online, a few too many K-Pop fans are a little toxic for what it is:forcedsmile:

The metal bands’ merch and tickets were cheaper, it’s k-pop idols’ merch and tickets that are expensive. I paid €118 for the ticket, €75 for the merch. Meanwhile for the metalcore show, I paid €35-40 for the ticket and €25-35 for the merch. XD

And woah, I didn’t know you were into metal bands. Mirin, something else we have in common! :Comfy::Comfy:

I post about metal a lot, and also share metal songs in the huge music megathread :feelsautistic:

You should try posting there from time to time, it's a pretty small community of its own haha, with me, @TechnoBoss, @EvilSatanArseRapist, @Hernan, @Luca_. and some others.

The first time I was actually super nervous because it was the first time I was going to one, and I had to travel to another country for it. After weeks of stalling to buy tickets (they were sold out rather quickly in my country), I decided to buy some and then I also had to buy tickets for traveling to another country, so I was in a completely different environment, where I don’t speak the same language, and I went by myself. Everyone else there was with friends and family as well, I was literally the only person who was alone there. And it was an arena, so it was insanely packed. Even more than this k-pop idol. And yeah, k-pop fans can be super toxic, especially online. But among themselves they’re nice. They were handing out freebies at the first show I went but I didn’t ask for anything even though they offered me some as well.

It would just feel very awkward to me, because I don’t do that. I don’t express myself with my body; I express myself with words. Plus, if you’re alone you tend to be more like me, because I was standing next to a girl who also was alone and she was acting just like me. Meanwhile others in groups were goofing around basically.

Yeah makes sense you shoulda tried to befriend the girl and have a fun time at the concert.
You’re both in the same situation so it makes sense to me. Ofc that’s up to you and her at the end of the day.

I think it’s weird to befriend people at concerts, I don’t see a point. Because you’ll never see each other again. And since I’m unattractive I don’t think they would want to befriend me either. I wouldn’t mind befriending them though but they’d have to start the conversation instead of the other way around, because I feel like if I do it, it’s an unwanted advance but if they do it, then I know it’s fine and they’re probably looking for a friend.

If you don’t mind the notifications you should put the music megathread on watch. That way I always know when someone posts a banger

It wasn’t shit, I liked it. I don’t go to shows often. :Comfy:
Last time I went was 18 years ago. My goodness. It seems like just yesterday.
